Offshore Electricity Infrastructure (OEI) Amendment Regulations 2024

The Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Amendment Regulations 2024 (amendment regulations) are now in effect. 

These regulations amend the Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Regulations 2022 (OEI Regulations) which underpin the Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Act 2021 (OEI Act). 

The amendment regulations operationalise the OEI framework and include provisions for management plans, design notifications, work health and safety, safety and protection zones, consultation requirements and financial security. 

In support of the regulations the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator (OIR) has released a suite of guidance materials. 

These materials work to build understanding of the new regulatory requirements.
